Submit a missing person report

If someone you love is missing, first call the police and file a report. Then submit it here. A moderator verifies every report before anything is public, and you'll get a private page to follow its status.

Before you start: share only what's in the official record. No home addresses, phone numbers or social media accounts. Don't name anyone who hasn't been charged, and don't ask people to search for or confront anyone. Reports that break these guidelines are sent back.

How can a moderator verify this report?

Link to an official listing NamUs, NCMEC, the Black and Missing Foundation or the FBI (required for that option, optional otherwise)

Verification documents a copy of the police report or a letter from the agency (PDF, JPEG or PNG). Only moderators see these, and they're deleted once the report is verified.

Photos and video

Photos at least one clear, recent photo of the face, up to 6. We remove location data from every photo.

Video optional, up to 2 (MP4, MOV or WebM, 200 MB each), e.g. a family appeal or footage the agency released. A moderator reviews each one.
